Food parks are the new ‘in’ thing in the metro for quite some time now, so it may come as a surprise that I actually haven’t been to any.. Until recently. It took my friends and I some time to decide where to go when we decided on the Yard Streetfood Cinema located at Quezon City.
The place is really pretty! Especially around 5 pm.
I usually don’t do much on my birthday as I don’t really hold a celebration or anything like that. However, this year I wanted to celebrate it, and for a few months I have been looking as to how I can do it in a way that I can help and maybe, bring joy to other people’s lives.
Stumbling upon U!Happy Events’ website, I looked through their previous events and programs and seeing how well-organised they were, I decided to create my own event for my birthday with their organisation.
I chose to hold my early birthday celebration at Hospicio de San Jose. You might be asking why Hospicio? For starters, this is the orphanage that we, though not really that frequently, donate old clothes and toys and other such items throughout the years.
Haha, anyway, I’ve been meaning to write this post for some time now but it’s only now that I’ve finally found the time to do so. Very late month-date but better late than never! This month-date post will be about my trip to Cebu last May 2017. 😀
For two nights, my family got to spend it at Shangri-la Mactan. If you ask me, this hotel has one of the best beaches in the Mactan area. Also, I love how you can connect just about anywhere in the property – even at the beach, the wi-fi connection’s really strong, not to mention fast. 😀
There are certain days wherein you can participate in fish feeding. At the place where you sign up and get your beach towels, you can ask the person there for fish feed. You can do fish feeding alone or in a group but whichever way you do it, it’s bound to be lots of fun!
It was Mother’s Day, and we didn’t really have any dinner reservations or things like that. In fact, we were just aimlessly driving around the city when we decided to go to Scape Skydeck. Having seen rave reviews about it on various social media sites, it has been one of the restaurants in Cebu that I’ve been really wanting to try out. As it was a holiday, I thought that we wouldn’t be able to nab a table (for 5!) here, but fortunately, we were able to do so!
Scape Skydeck is located on top of this building – which is a residential building, though not sure if it functions as a hotel too or what.
As we were 30 minutes early, the guard said that we could wait here by their pool area. The pool area is small, but strange enough, it wasn’t hot here. There was a constant breeze even though the area is closed off. Also, from behind the foliage, you can hear children playing and other street noises.
The pretty view! Pretty much the reason that we came here was for this, haha. Scape is located at the Mactan side of the city, so the view is different from, say, if you’re at Tops or at the Marco Polo area. I think that the view here is refreshing as you get to see the new bridge, and old bridge too!
A week or so ago, we went to Manila Hotel to belatedly celebrate my Aunt’s birthday. Anyway, we arrived there at around 7:30PM and the place was already quite packed. Since we had a reservation, we were able to be seated immediately.
Some of the food they offer in the Japanese area of the buffet.
After going to Temple of Leah, we were famished and so we headed to Lantaw Native Restaurant to have our dinner.
Since it was still quite early, we were able to catch this beautiful view of the city. This is probably my most favourite time of day since I love the pinkish hues of the sky before dusk.
Sugbo Mercado’s one of the few food night market in Cebu that operates from Thursdays to Saturdays from 5PM to 1AM. I’ve only been able to pass it by time and time again during my trips to Cebu, but finally, during my last visit I was able to go!
We didn’t actually plan on going to Sugbo Mercado – in fact, we had just come from dinner and were just driving aimlessly when we ended up in IT Park and saw Sugbo Mercado. As we saw a parking space, we decided to get down and see what it’s all about! 😀
