After our morning tour around Oxford, we were shuttled off to The Manor for lunch before the next activity of the day. Upon first glimpse of the place, I can’t help but look at the exterior of the hotel in awe, admittedly, I’m quite a sucker to this type of architecture lol – like Mercure Warwickshire, it looks like a place straight out of a historical period drama like Downton Abbey!
Then there’s me, literally pointing out the building! 😀
So pretty! I think I’ve already said this on here, but one of my absolutely fave things about the UK would have to be their architecture! Even a simple place like a hotel seems to hold a certain charm.
It looks so peaceful here too. For some reason, there didn’t seem to be much people there when we went. Everyone’s out exploring Oxford and Bicester, maybe?
The dining area where we had our lunch.
The starter we had was toast with.. If I’m not wrong, I think it’s liver pâté? Not really sure though. I only took a bite or two of the toast and didn’t bother altogether with the spread, haha.
I wasn’t even fazed anymore when the main dish served was – drumroll please – … Fish & Chips yet again! As I don’t really have much love for fish, I didn’t eat my share of it, but I did eat my chips lol. This seems to be the most crispy fish that I’ve encountered during our stay though – it almost looks like chicken somehow lol.
Now I really liked the dessert served. It was a chocolate lava cake with I think it’s cream on the side.
Look at that beauty! *u* The chocolate that ooze out of the cake wasn’t sweet, in fact, it was a bit on the bitter side but since the cake itself was quite sweet, it balances out the whole thing.
Also, can you spot the face lol.
The cozy waiting area and lobby of the Manor. It really has a nice and homey vibe to it.
Guess where we headed off to after lunch? We went to Bicester Village for some quality shopping time, haha. This is an outlet shopping place, and there are a lot of well-known luxury brands here like Prada, Coach, Victoria’s Secret, Chanel, Kate Spade, and more!
Inside the Kate Spade store. I love the cute-sy designs of their bags and I managed to buy two – and that was that, haha.
Before heading back to our coach, we spotted these three. I think they’re dressed up in Alice in the Wonderland get-up if I’m not wrong? 😀
Anyway, we stayed at Bicester Village for around 4 hours or so, and it was actually nice to walk around the place and look through the items for sale. However, even if it is an outlet shopping area, most of the clothes and bags and miscellaneous items on sale were still quite expensive, so in the end, we did more window shopping than actual shopping, haha!
The Manor at Weston On The Green Country House Hotel is located at Northampton Rd, Weston-on-the-Green, Bicester OX25 3QL, UK
Bicester Village is located at 50 Pingle Dr, Bicester OX26 6WD, UK
Also, this is way too random, but… Personally, the area code in the UK’s very confusing with the combination of numbers and letters. In fact, I think this is one of the aspects about the country that’s confused me (because it makes it harder for me to guess a postal code – this is for complimentary internet access use in public places, as they ask for it at times, haha) and had me experience a bit of a culture shock haha.
